Sustainable Practices

Sustainability is the right thing to do. It’s good for the planet and for your bottom line. Innovations in direct mail are reducing print’s impact on the environment, and consumers are watching.

Sustainability matters.
Sustainability matters.

It’s good business to pay attention to sustainability. Using data to reach only people who are highly likely to engage with your message saves materials and creates more bang for your marketing dollar. Biodegradable inks can produce sharper and brighter colors, are lower in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emissions, and are more sustainable to produce. Using recycled and sustainably produced paper allows you to print on lighter stock for the same effect.

About 44% of global consumers said they were more likely to buy from a brand with a clear commitment to sustainability.1

Cleaner Lists for Greener Mailing

Manage your lists and clean them rigorously, updating addresses and eliminating out-of-date information. Send your mail to targeted audiences, reducing the emissions required to send them. Be sure to ask your printing partners about their sustainability practices.

Recyclable Materials

When selecting paper stock and inks, choose environmentally friendly materials such as recycled, chlorine- or chemical-free paper, paper sourced through responsible forestry, or paper high in post-consumer recycled content. Select soy-based or water-based inks instead of oil-based. Ensure that your mailing is easily recycled by the consumer. Consider adding certifications to indicate recyclability.
